The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a pastor, Edwin Nwabueze, over alleged involvement in an interstate vehicle theft syndicate.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists on Friday.
She explained that the arrest followed the theft of a Toyota Camry at UTC Plaza in the Garki District of Abuja.
According to Adeh, Nwabueze, who hails from Oji River in Enugu State but resides in Benue State, identified himself as a pastor with Salvation Power Bible Ministry in the North Bank area of the state.
She said police operatives arrested him at his residence following sustained investigations.
The suspect reportedly led the officers to another location, where they arrested an alleged accomplice identified as Sadiq Jamiu.

Adeh disclosed that preliminary investigations linked Nwabueze to previous arrests by the Benue State Police Command over vehicle theft cases.
She added that further investigations suggested both suspects belonged to an interstate vehicle theft syndicate involved in stealing and selling vehicles across different states.
The police spokesperson said investigations were ongoing to uncover the full operations of the syndicate and arrest other members still at large.
She confirmed that the suspects remained in police custody and would be charged to court after investigations.
