
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea to officiate the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 semi-final clash between Nigeria and host nation Morocco.
The crucial encounter is scheduled for Wednesday night at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat, where both teams will battle for a place in the tournament’s final.
Laryea’s selection underscores CAF’s confidence in his experience and ability to manage high-pressure fixtures on the continental stage.
The 39-year-old official has impressed throughout the ongoing competition. He previously served as Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during Morocco’s dramatic quarter-final victory over Cameroon and also took charge as centre referee in the group-stage match between Algeria and Burkina Faso.
