Veteran journalist and former presidential aide, Dr. Reuben Abati, has criticized FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for allegedly undermining President Bola Tinubu and exposing him to public ridicule.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, Abati faulted Wike’s claim of leading a “rainbow coalition” in Rivers State, saying he has no authority to interfere in APC affairs.
Abati noted that APC leaders, including National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, have publicly stated that Wike, a former PDP member, has no business meddling in the ruling party’s internal matters.

The PDP has also disowned Wike, emphasizing he is no longer a member.
The former presidential aide accused Wike of abandoning his duties as FCT Minister to engage in political campaigns in Rivers State, calling his actions “irresponsible” and “ridiculous.”
He added that Wike’s activities, including house-to-house campaigns, risk embarrassing the President rather than helping him.
“Now first, let’s deal with Wike… He seems to be trying to upstage President Tinubu. Principal members of the APC have already expressed concern over his actions,” Abati said.
