Aloy Ejimakor, legal adviser to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, says it has been clear since 2021 that the entire system was aligned against his client. Speaking on Monday during an interview on Channels Television.
“The Morning Brief”, Ejimakor linked the alleged systemic hostility to the recent court judgment sentencing Kanu to life imprisonment.
According to him, warning signs had been visible for years.
He explained that “from 2021, it became clear that the deck was stacked against Nnamdi Kanu; the system appeared resolute in opposing him and everything he represented.
Ejimakor cited Kanu’s controversial rendition in June 2021 as evidence of what he described as “desperation” on the part of authorities, saying it violated international law and the laws of Nigeria and Kenya.
He added that the November 20 ruling did not surprise those directly involved in the legal battle. “For many, it was shocking, but for insiders, we knew this was a very tough case. What happened on November 20 simply confirmed what we had long discerned,” he said.
