New AI App Aims to Reduce Traffic Stress Across Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria — A new artificial intelligence–powered mobility app, SwiftMove, has launched in Lagos with the goal of helping residents navigate the city’s heavy traffic more easily.

The app studies real-time road conditions, predicts congestion, and recommends the quickest routes, offering commuters a smarter way to move around the city.

According to lead developer Tunde Salami, SwiftMove was created to address the daily stress faced by millions of Lagosians.
“Our system looks ahead and alerts users before traffic builds up,” he said.

During its pilot phase, early users reported noticeable improvements in travel time across major routes such as Third Mainland Bridge, Ikorodu Road, and Lekki–Epe Expressway.

Transport analysts say the innovation could support government efforts to modernize transportation and reduce gridlock.

With thousands already signing up, the developers plan a full rollout soon, along with added features like ride-sharing options and public transport integration.
