A chilling scene unfolded in Ogun State as police arrested a motorcyclist, Godonu Lowe, after he was caught fleeing his community with his wife’s corpse stuffed inside a sack tied to his bike.
The shocking discovery was made during a routine stop-and-search in Ilaro, where officers quickly sensed something was wrong.
According to Police Spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the woman’s body showed clear signs of violence, with deep injuries around her neck. A blood-soaked cutlass was later recovered from the crime scene, pointing strongly to foul play.
The suspect is now in custody, while the victim’s remains have been placed in the State Morgue for autopsy.
Commending the brave informant who tipped off authorities, Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo urged residents to speak up whenever they sense danger — noting that even the smallest report could be the key to saving a life.
