Deji Adeyanju and social media commentator Joe Igbokwe clashed following the heated exchange between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and a Naval officer.
Nigerians were divided on social media Tuesday after a video went viral showing Wike confronting a soldier over denied access to disputed land. Some supported the military officer, while others criticized him and sided with the FCT Minister.
Joe Igbokwe called for the officer’s dismissal on Facebook, questioning his authority, while Deji replied, urging Igbokwe to stop seeking an appointment.
Deji wrote, “Dear Joe Igbokwe, the appointment is already finished. Stop the hustling unless you intend to replace this cameraman. Doing media aide at an old age is actually crazy. Old data boys.”
In response, Igbokwe took to the comment section to warn Deji, emphasizing that they are not acquaintances and that he is not seeking any appointment. He stated, “Deji, you do not know me, and I do not know you.
The only thing I know about you is that you are an emergency activist. I have been a well-made man for over 30 years.”
“I began my activism at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in the 1980s. That’s over 40 years, Deji. Young man, I am no longer seeking anything from anyone. I am not your mate.
“Please verify for yourself. Ignorance is a terrible disease. Check my background, ask questions, seek information, read my five books, and you will know me. A good product sells itself.”
