Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militias have reportedly killed a 36-year-old farmer, Steven Bala, and injured Pastor Apollos Charly during an attack on Lamor community in Pushit District, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack reportedly occurred on Wednesday afternoon at a farm belonging to the pastor.
A community youth leader, Bulus Nehemiah, said Bala was killed during the incident while Pastor Charly escaped with severe injuries. He added that a 57-year-old man, Danbaba Libet, remained missing after the attack.
Nehemiah alleged that armed Fulani men had repeatedly attacked communities in Pushit in recent weeks, making it difficult for residents to access their farms during the harvest season.
