
A member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), identified as Kamoru Omokoye, has been shot dead by suspected cultists at Abijo Bus Stop in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred around 9am on Sunday when two men arrived at the bus stop in an unregistered Lexus RX 350 and opened fire on Omokoye, popularly known as “Zobo.”
According to a police source, the victim was shot in the head before the attackers fled the scene in their vehicle.
Omokoye was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Epe, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

An anti-cultism advocacy platform, Naija Confra, also reported that the victim was at a local gin-selling spot with others when the attackers opened fire. At least three other people reportedly sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident and said an investigation has commenced, while detectives have visited the scene and launched efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects.
The attack has raised fresh concerns over cult-related violence and insecurity in parts of Lagos State.
