An Ibadan-based woman, Mrs Alimot Akande, has appealed to the Federal Government, the police and other security agencies to rescue her daughter and 18 other prospective National Youth Service Corps members abducted while travelling to Abia State.
The 19 prospective corps members reportedly left Ibadan on Wednesday and were kidnapped between Anambra and Abia states in the early hours of Thursday.
Akande, whose daughter is among those abducted, made the appeal while speaking with journalists in Ibadan, Oyo State.
She said the prospective corps members boarded a commercial transport bus from the Sango area of Ibadan for the journey to Abia.
According to her, the passengers stopped in Onitsha at about 10pm on Wednesday before continuing their journey the following morning.
