The Lagos State Police Command has sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly involved in the production and packaging of adulterated alcoholic drinks in the Badagry area of the state.
A 48-year-old man, Anaebo Emeka Hilary, was also arrested in connection with the facility located in Yafin, Badagry.
The operation followed information received from members of the public about activities allegedly taking place at the premises.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, police operatives moved to the location after receiving the information and discovered items believed to be connected to the production of the drinks.

Among the items recovered were suspected adulterated alcoholic beverages, empty bottles, different wine labels and various equipment allegedly used for producing and packaging the drinks.
Following the discovery, the police sealed the facility and took Hilary into custody for questioning. The recovered materials were also moved to the police station as investigations continued.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Tijani Fatai, praised the officers for their response and urged residents to continue providing credible information about suspected criminal activities.
He said the command would sustain intelligence-led operations across the state to prevent and tackle criminal activities.
