Convicted fake Nigerian Army general, Bolarinwa Abiodun, has reportedly been attacked by warders at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre in Lagos and rushed to a military hospital for treatment.
Bolarinwa, who is serving a seven-year prison sentence after being convicted of impersonating a senior Nigerian Army officer and defrauding a company of millions of naira, was reportedly assaulted inside the correctional facility.
According to sources, the incident occurred when correctional officers allegedly entered his cell while he was sleeping during a search for a mobile phone.
A source claimed that the officers pushed and assaulted Bolarinwa, causing him to fall to the ground during the incident.
Following the alleged attack, Bolarinwa was reportedly taken to the Military Hospital on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, for medical attention.
A family source said Bolarinwa informed relatives that he had been beaten during the incident and alleged that his private parts were squeezed. The source said he was receiving treatment at the hospital and had reportedly been taken into the theatre while medical examinations were being conducted.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged assault remain unclear, and there has been no independent confirmation of the claims against the correctional officers.
The source also alleged that Bolarinwa had previously been poisoned four times and that there were plans to kill him. However, the claim could not be independently verified.
Bolarinwa was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in January 2022 after allegedly presenting himself as a Nigerian Army general.

The EFCC accused him of claiming that former President Muhammadu Buhari had selected him for appointment as Chief of Army Staff and allegedly collecting about ₦266.5 million from Kodef Clearing Resources Limited in connection with the purported appointment.
He was also accused of forging military documents, including an alleged Army Chief of Staff appointment letter and an Army identity card.
On July 7, 2022, Bolarinwa changed his plea to guilty to the 13-count charge against him.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja subsequently convicted him on all 13 counts and sentenced him to seven years in prison without an option of fine.
The court also ordered the forfeiture of four vehicles and a property linked to the case and directed him to pay ₦20 million in restitution.
The latest reported assault has raised concerns among his family members, who are said to be seeking answers over the circumstances surrounding his condition and treatment while in custody.
