A woman has been arrested by the police in Kano State after her husband, Hafizu Gausu, died following a reported altercation at Katsalle in Rogo Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly occurred around 7pm on Friday. A resident, Auwal Kazagi Rogo, said neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing the woman raise an alarm that her husband had been attacked.
According to the resident, Gausu was found with a serious head injury and lying in a pool of blood. He also reportedly had an apparent bite injury on his ear.

Gausu’s wife, Bilkisu Sani, was subsequently arrested as a suspect while police began investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
The incident reportedly followed repeated disagreements between the couple over Gausu’s alleged plan to marry another woman as his second wife. Community elders had reportedly intervened in the dispute before the incident.
Gausu was buried on Saturday morning according to Islamic rites.
The couple had reportedly been married for nearly seven years and had two children. Bilkisu was also said to be pregnant with the deceased’s child.
Police investigations are ongoing.
