The Rivers State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the killing of Kamadioye Krama, a married father of four, who was reportedly shot dead by gunmen in Emulation community, Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state.
Krama was said to have been killed at about 8pm on Friday after visiting an area where youths were preparing canopies ahead of a coronation ceremony scheduled for Saturday.
According to his elder brother, Monday Krama, the deceased had returned from the farm and gone to have his hair cut before heading to the community gathering. He was reportedly standing at the venue when armed men suddenly appeared and opened fire.
Monday clarified that the gathering was not political, contrary to earlier information, explaining that the youths were preparing for the coronation of a community stakeholder, identified as Mr ThankGod.

The family has called on the police to investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted. A formal complaint has reportedly been lodged at the Abua/Odual Police Division.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Blessing Agabe, said investigators were working to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.
The police assured that appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
