The Nigeria Police Force has arrested at least 16 suspects in separate operations across eight states over alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, homicide, sexual offences, cultism and drug-related activities.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a state-by-state summary of police operations released on Sunday.
In Oyo State, police operatives arrested four suspects during separate operations conducted between September 17 and 18.
Iniedu said a suspected member of a kidnapping syndicate was arrested at Kanbi Village on September 18, while two other suspects were apprehended for allegedly concealing kidnapping activities.
A serving member of a sister security agency was also arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery and abduction in Ibadan. Police recovered a blue Toyota Camry allegedly used during the operation.
Two suspects were further arrested over alleged sexual offences in the state, including a suspect accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl in Saki.
Police recovered a blood-stained boxer short and a Panasonic tape as exhibits in the Saki case, while the victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
In Delta State, six suspects were arrested in three separate operations.
According to the police, one suspect was arrested over the alleged defilement of a minor in Ughelli South Local Government Area, while another was apprehended over the alleged defilement of an eight-year-old girl at Okwagbe Waterside Community.
Three additional suspects were arrested during a raid on a suspected criminal black spot at Umusadege, Kwale, over alleged drug trafficking and cult-related activities.
In Kogi State, two suspects were arrested in separate operations. One was apprehended following a fatal shooting at Ohunene Community in Ajaokuta Local Government Area, while another was arrested following a reported missing-person case in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area.

A gun allegedly linked to the Ajaokuta shooting was also recovered by the police.
In Kano State, a female suspect was arrested on September 18 in connection with the death of her husband at Katsalle Quarters in Rogo Local Government Area.
In Bayelsa State, police transferred a murder suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yenagoa for protective custody after unrest broke out at Ebedebiri Community in Sagbama Local Government Area.
Tactical teams were also deployed to the community to restore law and order.
The police said the various State Criminal Investigation Departments were investigating the cases, while efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend other persons allegedly connected with the offences.
The operations, according to the Force, formed part of its ongoing efforts to respond to credible intelligence, arrest suspects and disrupt criminal activities across the affected states.
