The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued a woman who was kidnapped from her home and arrested 11 suspected armed robbers in separate operations across the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, September 4, 2026.
According to the statement, the rescued victim, identified as Favour Innocent from Ajyga Village, was abducted from her residence on August 3.
She was rescued the following morning at Nunku Forest Area in Akwanga Local Government Area following a joint operation involving police operatives, local hunters and community youths.
Nansel said Favour was taken to the Primary Health Centre in Andaha, where she received medical attention and was later discharged in good condition.
The victim has since been reunited with her family, while the police continue efforts to track down the fleeing kidnappers.
In a separate incident, police operatives arrested 11 suspects following a robbery at a guest house in Area One, Masaka, at about 2:00 a.m. on September 4.
The suspects allegedly invaded the guest house and dispossessed lodgers of valuables, including mobile phones and cash.
Following information about the attack, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, ordered the immediate deployment of police operatives to the area.
Their arrival reportedly forced the suspects to flee, but the operatives pursued them to their hideout, where nine adults and two minors were arrested.
Police said several items were recovered, including a locally fabricated revolver, four cutlasses, a fabricated cutlass, two knives, two bedsheets, eight SIM cards, three head warmer caps, two scissors, counterfeit foreign currencies and original documents belonging to one Kabiru Abubakar.
