Armed bandits have abducted a resident during an attack on Lata Nna community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, further heightening fears over the security situation in the area.
The attack occurred on Thursday afternoon between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., with the assailants reportedly seizing a man identified as Mohammed Abubakar Ndapkada before fleeing to an unknown destination.
According to residents, the kidnappers later contacted members of the community to confirm that the victim was in their custody. During a brief phone conversation with his brother, Mohammed reportedly said he had been blindfolded and could not identify where he was being held.

As of the time of filing this report, the abductors had not made any ransom demand or communicated conditions for his release.
The latest incident comes only weeks after security operatives foiled a similar attack in the same community, highlighting the continued threat posed by armed groups operating in Patigi Local Government Area.
Concerned residents have again appealed to the Kwara State Government, the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify security operations in the area and ensure the safe rescue of the abducted resident.
Community leaders also urged authorities to strengthen security presence across Lata Nna and neighbouring communities, warning that repeated attacks could leave more residents vulnerable if urgent action is not taken.
