Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully foiled a suspected kidnapping and armed robbery operation along the Jere–Bwari Expressway in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), rescuing a victim unharmed.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development via X, the incident occurred in the early hours of July 25, 2026, at approximately 2:45 a.m.
Makama revealed that troops from the 102 Guards Battalion, stationed at Jere, acted swiftly on credible intelligence indicating an ongoing armed robbery and possible abduction attempt along the busy highway.

Upon arrival at the scene, the soldiers reportedly encountered the suspects, who fled into nearby bushes upon sighting the advancing troops, abandoning their victim in the process.
The victim was immediately secured and rescued without sustaining any injuries, while security operatives have intensified efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing criminals.
The swift response of the military is believed to have prevented what could have escalated into a successful kidnapping, reinforcing the Nigerian Army’s commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring the security of commuters across major routes in and around the FCT.
