A coordinated security operation involving the Adamawa State Police Command, troops of the 144 Battalion, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force has successfully repelled a terrorist attack in Garaha Village, located in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The joint task force responded swiftly to the threat, engaging the attackers and forcing them to retreat towards the Sambisa Forest.
The operation effectively prevented what could have been another devastating assault on communities in the area, which have experienced repeated security challenges in recent times.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the operation led to the recovery of one offensive weapon abandoned by the fleeing insurgents.

Commending the success of the mission, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, praised the bravery, professionalism, and collaboration among the security agencies, emphasizing the importance of sustained synergy in combating terrorism.
In a related development, the police also confirmed the recovery of a stolen vehicle in Yola. The vehicle had earlier been reported missing after being parked near Sammy Store, close to the Lamido Aliyu Mustapha International Airport.
A 59-year-old suspect, identified as Omega Gubo from Rumde Baru Ward, Jimeta, has been arrested in connection with the theft. Authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be prosecuted in line with existing laws.
The Adamawa State Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to continue providing timely information to support security efforts.
