The Niger State Police Command has arrested four suspects in separate operations, recovering three toy guns, 16 ATM cards and a stolen vehicle linked to alleged criminal activities across the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said two suspects, Zaradeen Sani, 19, and Yakubu Abdullahi, 20, were arrested by a surveillance patrol team around M.I. Wushishi Estate Junction in Minna during a late-night operation.
According to the police, officers searched the tricycle the suspects were travelling in and recovered three plastic pistols and 16 expired ATM cards belonging to different banks. The suspects claimed they found the cards while scavenging in Lagos, but investigators believe the toy guns may have been used to intimidate and rob residents in the area.
In a separate operation, the command took custody of two suspected car thieves from the Kano State Police Command after they allegedly confessed to stealing a Volkswagen vehicle in Lapai, Niger State, about six months ago.

The suspects, identified as Dauda Saidu, 23, and Hassan Aliyu, 28, allegedly drove the stolen vehicle to Kaduna State, where it was reportedly used for commercial transportation and other unlawful activities.
Police said the stolen vehicle has been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to identify and return it to its rightful owner.
The Niger State Police Command confirmed that both cases are being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), with further action to be taken upon the conclusion of investigations.
