Authorities at Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, have launched an investigation into two 300-level students over alleged involvement in cannabis possession and use within the school premises.
The students, both from the Department of Public Administration in the Faculty of Management Sciences, were reportedly apprehended by operatives of the university’s Directorate of Narcotics and Anti-Cultism during a routine surveillance operation on campus.
According to preliminary reports, the suspects were found with substances believed to be cannabis and were allegedly caught smoking within the university environment.
Speaking on the development, the Director of the Directorate emphasized that the operation reflects the institution’s strict stance against drug abuse and cult-related activities.
He reiterated the university’s zero-tolerance policy, noting that such actions pose a threat to the safety and academic integrity of the campus.
