Residents of Angwan Durun-Uwa in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State were thrown into panic on Thursday following the shocking discovery of the body of a young woman at a refuse dump.
According to reports, the remains were found concealed in a sack by individuals who had gone to dispose of waste at the site. The identity of the victim is yet to be determined.
A community youth leader, Gomex Iliya, confirmed the incident, explaining that he was alerted early in the day and immediately visited the scene.
“We received distressing information about a body found at the dump site. On getting there, we saw that it was a young woman. The condition suggested the body had been there for some days,” he said.

Security operatives were promptly notified, and officers arrived at the location to evacuate the remains. Residents are now calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

The incident has heightened concerns over safety in the area, with community members urging authorities to strengthen surveillance and security measures.
