
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested seven suspects linked to an armed robbery attack on students of Sa’adu Zungur University, Itas-Gadau Campus.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at Rahama House, an off-campus hostel in Gadau. According to police reports, the suspects allegedly stormed the residence around 3:30 a.m., attacking students and injuring two individuals with machetes before escaping with two Android phones.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, operatives from the Gadau Division responded swiftly to a distress call under the Safe Schools Initiative.
The injured students were immediately evacuated to the General Hospital in Azare, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Following the attack, detectives launched a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of all seven suspects. The stolen phones were also successfully recovered during the operation.
The suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, strongly condemned the attack and assured the public that all those involved would be brought to justice.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents, particularly students.
The police also advised members of the public, especially those residing off-campus, to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
