Adesiyan, who was a deacon, was reportedly shot dead when heavily armed gunmen stormed the school on May 15, abducting dozens of students, teachers and the school principal.
His identity was made public after the school’s principal, Rachael Alamu, recounted the ordeal following her rescue after spending 56 days in captivity.

According to Alamu, the kidnappers killed two teachers during the incident. She disclosed that while mathematics teacher Michael Oyedokun was executed in captivity, Adesiyan was shot during the initial attack on the school.
The principal said the killings were intended to increase pressure on the government during negotiations for the release of the abducted victims.
Although the remaining students and staff were eventually rescued, the deaths of the two teachers have left the school community in mourning and renewed calls for stronger security in schools across Nigeria.
