
The Oyo State Police Command has successfully rescued a farmer who was abducted earlier in the day, reinforcing ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping in the state.
The victim, identified as Mr. Owoade Matthew, was reportedly kidnapped on July 13 along the Igbojaye–Budo Aare bush road axis. However, swift intervention by police operatives led to his rescue just a few hours after the incident.
This development was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, on Monday night.

According to the statement, the victim has since regained his freedom and is currently receiving medical attention at a health facility to ensure his full recovery.
“The victim has been taken for proper medical evaluation and necessary treatment. Upon completion, he will be debriefed by investigators as part of efforts to gather vital information that will aid the ongoing investigation,” the statement read.
The police further assured the public that efforts are underway to track down and apprehend those responsible for the kidnapping, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring justice is served.
Residents have also been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies as the command intensifies operations to curb criminal activities in the region.
