
A 30-year-old man, Musbawu Amodu, has been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his 20-year-old wife following a domestic dispute in Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area of the state.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred in the Angwan Yahaya community after an argument between the couple escalated into violence. According to police, the disagreement allegedly began when the wife refused to prepare a meal, leading to a confrontation that turned fatal.
Police spokesperson, SP Rahman Nansel, said officers from the Agyaragu Police Division responded swiftly after receiving a distress call. The victim was rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, where medical personnel confirmed her dead. Her body has since been deposited at the hospital for further examination.

The deceased, who had been married to the suspect for six years, is survived by two children a boy and a girl.
Nansel disclosed that the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and allegedly confessed during interrogation, expressing remorse over what happened.
The Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for a comprehensive investigation.
He condemned the incident, stressing that domestic disagreements should never result in violence or loss of life. The commissioner urged couples to embrace dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution while assuring residents that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The police also assured residents that normalcy has been restored in the community, with security personnel maintaining surveillance to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
