The Osun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the shooting of a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Taofeeq Mustapha, in Osogbo.
Mustapha, a resident of Osogbo, was reportedly attacked by unidentified gunmen on Saturday in the Oluode Aranyin area of the state capital.
According to him, the assailants, who were travelling in a minibus, opened fire on him, leaving him with gunshot wounds on his legs.
In a video circulating online, the victim alleged that he was targeted because he wore a fez cap branded with the campaign insignia “AMBO,” representing Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate in the state.
Recounting the incident in Yoruba, Mustapha claimed that the attackers also wore caps bearing the insignia of another political group.
