
A joint security operation involving police officers and local hunters has led to the successful rescue of a kidnapped man in Adamawa State following a fierce gun battle with his abductors.
The victim, identified as Alhaji Rabe Suleiman, a resident of Roma Village in Suktu District, Song Local Government Area, was abducted in the early hours of Friday, June 26, 2026.
According to the Adamawa State Police Command, security operatives attached to the Song Divisional Police Headquarters, working alongside local hunters, acted on credible intelligence and tracked the kidnappers to their hideout around the Morogma Mountains.

On reaching the location, the security team engaged the armed suspects in a gun battle. The kidnappers were forced to flee into the surrounding mountains after being overpowered by the security team’s superior firepower, abandoning the victim. Police believe some of the fleeing suspects sustained bullet wounds during the exchange.
Security operatives recovered a Beretta pistol, one live round of Beretta ammunition, a torchlight, a small bag, suspected charms and food items from the scene.
The victim was taken to a medical facility for examination before being reunited with his family. The police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and ensure they are brought to justice.
