Sergio Aguero has advised Atletico Madrid to sell Julian Alvarez if the forward is no longer happy at the club.
The former Manchester City striker made the comments to Jijantes after Alvarez publicly confirmed he wants to leave the LaLiga side.
The Argentina international made the announcement following his country’s 2-0 win over Austria at the 2026 World Cup, saying he had already informed Atletico Madrid of his decision.

Speaking on the situation, Aguero said the club and player appear to be in agreement that a transfer is the best path forward.
“If I were the club and a player was unhappy in the city, or for any other reason—dissatisfaction with teammates or the coach—if he feels uncomfortable, the best way is to find a solution and sell him,” Aguero said.
Alvarez joined Diego Simeone’s side seeking regular minutes, but his comments suggest the relationship has soured. Atletico Madrid are yet to issue an official response.
