The Anambra State Police Command has arrested the parents of twin infants whose lifeless bodies were discovered in a drainage channel in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.
The tragic discovery was made in the early hours of Sunday along Cooperative Street, Nwokedi, after residents spotted a box containing the bodies of the newborn twins and alerted security authorities.
According to eyewitnesses, the babies had been abandoned in a manner that made them visible to passersby, sparking outrage among community members. Following the report, police operatives from the Okpoko Division swiftly moved to the scene, secured the area, and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
