A 22-year-old social media influencer and Chinese translator, Shalom Daisy Daniels, widely known online as “Witch of China,” has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command over allegations of cyberbullying, defamation, and orchestrating coordinated online attacks against business owners.
According to police authorities, Daniels was apprehended following multiple complaints from vendors who accused her of using her social media platforms to damage their reputations and incite followers to report and take down their business accounts.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, has ordered that the case be transferred from the Langbasa Division in Eti-Osa to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a more comprehensive investigation.
The SCID Crime Unit, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Soledayo Akinbisehin, is currently handling the matter.
Preliminary investigations revealed that several affected vendors experienced significant disruptions to their businesses after their social media pages were reportedly targeted and removed following coordinated reporting campaigns allegedly linked to the suspect.
One of the complainants, a businesswoman and importer, claimed that her ordeal began after she defended another vendor who had been criticized by Daniels over product pricing.

She alleged that Daniels subsequently singled out her business, comparing her prices to those on Chinese e-commerce platforms and portraying her as dishonest.
The complainant further stated that Daniels encouraged individuals to join her importation group for a fee, promising access to cheaper products while publicly labeling other vendors as exploitative.
Another business owner and CEO of a fashion brand also accused Daniels of using her videos without consent, defaming her publicly, and sharing her personal details online. She added that when she demanded the removal of the content, Daniels allegedly threatened to destroy her brand.
Police sources confirm that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect, along with any identified accomplices, will be charged in court upon conclusion of the inquiry.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to tackling cyberbullying and protecting individuals and businesses from digital harassment and reputational damage.
