The Lagos State Government is tightening oversight of the real estate sector by expanding the reach of the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority through new satellite offices across the state.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, Abdulhafis Toriola, recently led an assessment tour of LASRERA offices in Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Ikorodu, Surulere, Agege, and Ojodu Local Government and Local Council Development Areas. The visit checked the centres’ operational readiness, facilities, and capacity to serve residents, property owners, developers, and other stakeholders.
The offices were set up to bring regulatory services closer to the public and reduce the burden of travelling to central offices for approvals, complaints, and compliance checks. Officials of the host councils welcomed the move, saying it would improve accessibility, efficiency, and public engagement with the regulator.
Speaking during the tour, Toriola said the expansion supports LASRERA’s mandate to clean up the property market, curb fraud, and enforce compliance with state regulations. He added that the authority plays a key role in protecting residents and rebuilding trust in property transactions.

The state plans to open more offices soon in Amuwo-Odofin, Mushin, Ojo, and Lekki. Toriola said the expansion would deepen public access to regulatory services and allow faster responses to complaints and compliance issues.
He also commended local government authorities for their support, noting that collaboration between state agencies and grassroots institutions is critical to building a transparent and accountable property market.
With Lagos among Nigeria’s largest and busiest property markets, officials say the wider presence of LASRERA will improve compliance, strengthen consumer protection, and tackle fraudulent activities in the sector.
