Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has opened up about her personal approach to faith, saying she does not identify as a “typical Nigerian Christian.”
In a recent interview with Jay On-Air, the actress explained that she does not rely on pastors or priests for direction. Instead, she follows Jesus by trusting her own intuition and personal relationship with God.
Isime said she avoids serving or performing for people, preferring to maintain an independent mindset in her spiritual journey. She stressed that she figures out God for herself rather than adopting other people’s expectations.

The actress also revealed she has spiritual mentors she listens to, naming Apostle Joshua Selman as one of her key influences. According to her, understanding the kind of preachers she follows gives insight into her beliefs.
“I don’t serve mortals. So, I don’t have the need to perform for mortals. And I would always have a mind of my own. I would always do my own thing. I would always figure out God for myself,” she said.
Isime added that she does not want to fit the mold of a conventional Nigerian Christian, noting that she has her own mindset, just like Jesus.
