
Suspected bandits have reportedly killed three people and set several houses ablaze in Pissa village, located in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to the Niger State Police Command, the attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday at about 9:00 a.m., throwing the community into panic and destruction.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating that the armed attackers invaded the village, resulting in casualties and property damage.
“Preliminary reports indicate that suspected bandits stormed Pissa village in Borgu LGA. Three persons were killed during the attack, and some houses were set on fire,” he disclosed.
Abiodun further revealed that military personnel responded swiftly to the distress call and engaged the attackers. However, details of the confrontation remain unclear as investigations are ongoing.

Earlier in the week, panic spread across schools in Minna as students fled classrooms over fears of an attack. Parents reportedly rushed to confirm the safety of their children, prompting authorities to intervene.
The police had earlier dismissed the reports as false alarms, assuring residents of adequate security presence across the state and reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies continue to monitor the situation in Borgu LGA, while efforts are underway to restore calm and prevent further attacks.
