
A female passenger has died after a Benue Links bus plunged into a stream along the Ogiladzi–Abakwa Road in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.
The accident occurred between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on June 13, 2026, at Ofyanghan in Adi-Etulo, Buruku LGA. The bus was travelling towards Jato-Aka when it veered off the road and fell into the water under circumstances that remain unclear.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said several passengers were rescued from the crashed vehicle, but one female passenger could not be saved. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Local residents have advised members of the public to contact relatives who were travelling along the route or to seek updates from the relevant authorities.
As of press time, efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Udeme Edet, and officials of the Benue Links Transport Company were unsuccessful.
Authorities are expected to release more details as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
