Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered AK-47 rifles and ammunition during an operation in Borno State.
The arrest followed credible intelligence that led soldiers to a known criminal corridor in Magumeri on Friday. According to a statement posted on the task force’s official platform, the troops carried out a coordinated operation targeting a kidnapping syndicate that had been terrorising civilians in the area.
During the raid, soldiers recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition. Preliminary investigations linked the suspects to multiple kidnapping cases and other criminal activities across Borno State.

Military authorities said the five arrested individuals are in custody and are providing information to assist ongoing efforts to track down other members of the syndicate and dismantle their support network.
Operation HADIN KAI has intensified operations in recent months to curb kidnapping and insurgent activity in the North East. Officials say the latest arrests form part of broader efforts to restore safety and allow civilians to resume normal activities without fear.
