Galatasaray are planning to make Victor Osimhen their captain next season, according to respected Turkish journalist Yakup Çınar.
Speaking on the 90+ Digital YouTube channel, Çınar said the Turkish champions have already made verbal offers worth between €110m and €120m to keep the Nigerian striker at the club. He added that the club’s management sees Osimhen as a natural leader for the 2026/27 campaign.
“In the scenario where Icardi doesn’t stay, Osimhen will wear the number nine jersey next season,” Çınar revealed. The statement suggests Galatasaray are preparing for life without Mauro Icardi, whose future in Istanbul remains uncertain.
