
A tragic incident has rocked the Ogbogoro Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, where a tricycle operator, identified simply as IK, allegedly beat his lover to death and abandoned her body alongside their two young children.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Tuesday at CPM Street, came to light after residents made a disturbing discovery early in the morning.
The lifeless body of the woman was found inside a parked tricycle with her children, aged about five years and six months.
According to a resident, who identified himself as Senibo, neighbours were alerted after noticing the unusual scene. The matter was immediately reported to the police at the Ozuoba Division.
Preliminary information gathered indicates that the suspect allegedly assaulted the woman at a guest house where they had lodged the previous night. The couple’s five-year-old child reportedly told authorities that her father used an object to attack her mother during the incident.

It was further revealed that after the assault, the suspect allegedly attempted to take the woman to a hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
He then abandoned her body and the children in the tricycle before fleeing the scene.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state said officers responded swiftly to a distress call from a passerby. Upon arrival, they found the deceased and the two children inside the vehicle.
The police spokesperson added that the children have since been placed in the care of a relative, while the body of the deceased has been deposited in a mortuary for preservation and further investigation.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspect, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
This tragic event has raised fresh concerns about domestic violence and the safety of vulnerable individuals within communities.
