A businessman in Minna, Niger State, has raised an alarm after his private security guard allegedly disappeared with his six-year-old twin sons on Sallah Day, while suspected kidnappers later contacted the family to demand ransom.
The children, identified as Umar and Anas, were reportedly last seen on May 31 in the Brighter Area of Minna in the company of the security guard, Sani Abdulrahman.
According to their father, popularly known as Alhaji Danjuma, the guard had informed the family that he was taking the boys out to celebrate the Sallah festivities in town.
However, concern grew when the children and the guard failed to return home later that day.
Family members reportedly launched a search across hospitals and other locations within the Minna metropolis, fearing the trio may have been involved in an accident.
Their fears deepened when unknown individuals allegedly contacted the family and demanded ransom for the children’s release.
Speaking on the incident, Danjuma said he received a phone call from persons claiming to be holding the children in Erena Forest, located in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
