
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over their alleged involvement in the death of a senior colleague, Agada Levi Agada, during an operation in Nasarawa State.
According to a statement issued by the police, the Force Intelligence Department (FID) commenced an investigation following a petition submitted by the deceased’s family through their legal representative.
The officers arrested in connection with the incident were identified as Simeon Yakubu Anyebe, Ibrahim Ayefu, and Iwodi Obochi.
Preliminary findings revealed that the late Agada was fatally shot while on duty during an operation at Rafin Gabas in the Agwada area of Nasarawa State.
In a significant development, the police disclosed that over N2 billion was traced to a bank account belonging to an NSCDC Mining Marshal.

Investigators are currently working to establish the source of the funds and determine whether there are links to other suspects involved in the case.
The police further stated that several personnel from the Mining Marshals Unit had been invited for questioning but failed to honour the invitations.
“We traced over N2 billion into the Zenith Bank account of Sergeant Labaran. We have also tracked multiple transfers between his account and those of other suspects as part of ongoing investigations,” the statement read.
Authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that all individuals found culpable will be brought to justice.
