
Police in Ogun State have arrested a 32-year-old security guard, Friday Ayuba, for allegedly stealing motor spare parts from his employer’s company in Ita-Asu village, Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The arrest was made on Saturday by operatives of the Owode-Egba Division following a report from the company’s manager. According to the police, Ayuba was caught attempting to move the items out of the premises without authorization.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi said officers from the Quick Response Squad intercepted the suspect at the Sagamu Interchange axis along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Recovered items included four air controls, two air boosters, two engine seats, and two fuel pumps, all identified as property of the company.

During preliminary investigations, the suspect reportedly admitted to the theft. Detectives visited the scene for further documentation, and the recovered items were secured as exhibits. Ayuba remains in custody and will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the company management for their vigilance and praised the swift response of the Quick Response Squad and Owode-Egba Division officers.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting businesses and residents through intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention.
The commissioner also urged employers and the public to remain security conscious and report suspicious activities promptly to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines.
