Activist and social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has called on the Nigerian government to act swiftly to secure the release of abducted children and teachers in Oyo State.
In a video posted on May 29, 2026, VeryDarkMan shared a clip of an abducted teacher pleading for negotiation with the kidnappers.
The teacher, speaking alongside a toddler, described how the victims had spent nearly two weeks in the bush without food, shelter, or medical care. She appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers to prioritize dialogue over force.

Following the clip, VeryDarkMan delivered a strongly worded monologue urging federal and state authorities to treat the crisis with urgency. He warned that failure to act could lead to nationwide protests and suggested launching a GoFundMe campaign if the government remained unresponsive after four days.
The activist stressed that the abduction of over 40 pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area was not just an attack on Oyo State but on the future of education in Nigeria. He called on citizens to keep pressure on officials until the captives were released safely.
The video has since gone viral, drawing over 100,000 likes and sparking heated debate online about ransom payments, government responsibility, and the safety of schools in the region.
