Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected “one-chance” operators allegedly involved in robbing unsuspecting passengers around the Obantoko area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Odunuga Kehinde and Olajide Rasak, were apprehended after a distress call was made concerning the robbery of a female passenger and her two sisters.
According to reports, the victims had boarded a Nissan Micra taxi painted in Ogun State commercial colours from the Somorin area while travelling to NNPC Kuto, where they intended to connect another vehicle to Lagos after attending a wedding anniversary ceremony.
However, trouble reportedly began when the occupants of the vehicle diverted from the agreed route at the OLG Somorin axis and allegedly became violent before forcefully ejecting the passengers from the vehicle.
After they were pushed out, one of the victims discovered that her iPhone 12 Pro had been stolen and immediately raised an alarm, drawing the attention of residents in the area.
