
The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the mass demobilisation and redeployment of several officers from the Police Mobile Force (PMF) across Nigeria on health and compassionate grounds.
According to an internal police memo dated May 18, 2026, and referenced “CH:5660/DOPS/PMF/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.89/196,” the directive was issued by the Department of Operations at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The signal, signed on behalf of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, was addressed to commanding officers of various PMF squadrons nationwide, including those in Keffi, Ibadan, Yola, Ilorin, Abeokuta, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Ikeja, Asaba, Ado-Ekiti, Lokoja, Gusau, Zaria, Oghara, Ikorodu, Shendam, Takum, Obudu, Okene and Ilaro.
The affected officers, comprising Inspectors, Sergeants, Corporals and a Police Constable, are to be demobilised from the PMF and redeployed to their respective state commands and formations.

Among the affected officers are Inspectors Ibrahim James, Garba Shehu, Osi Fatimo, Wangkat Danfa, Korah Joshua, Ayibaemi Youbogha, Patience Mbagwu, Saidu Abubakar, Kenedy Ishaya and Albert Eguabor.
Others include Adah Hycienth, Sohide Dassak, Bleno Reuben, Igbinogun Uyi, Tijjani Abdullahi, Opara Elizabeth, Yakubu Samari, Alaje Ayo, Olowa Taiye, Jibrin Shuaib, Odeyemi Isaac, Ashiweh Olanifẹ, Otayo Adebayo and Nonbas Shamsu Usman
.
The list also includes Sergeants Kabir Abdullahi, Mubarak Isiya and Egwu Egwu, as well as Corporals Saifullahi Wamba, Aminu Sani, Selnan Lamsing, Muttaka Muktar, Safiyanu Abubakar, Aminu Tukur and Police Constable Muhammad Ibrahim.
The Police Mobile Force is the tactical arm of the Nigeria Police Force and is primarily deployed for riot control, counter-insurgency operations and internal security duties across the country.
The latest redeployment comes days after the police authorities approved another transfer exercise involving officers in the Edo State Command as part of what was described as an ongoing administrative reorganisation within the force.
