
Residents alert authorities after suspicious late-night visit in Birnin Kebbi
Officers of the Kebbi Hisbah Board have arrested a man allegedly discovered hiding inside a large “Ghana-Must-Go” bag at the residence of a married woman in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
According to reports confirmed by officials of the board, residents of the area raised an alarm in the early hours of Monday, May 18, after noticing suspicious movement around the woman’s home at about 12:15 a.m.
The community members subsequently notified Hisbah authorities, suspecting possible immoral activity.
Search reveals concealed suspect
Following the tip-off, Hisbah officers reportedly arrived at the scene and conducted a search of the premises after initially being denied entry.
The woman later granted access, leading to the shocking discovery of a man concealed inside a large sack commonly referred to as a “Ghana-Must-Go” bag.

Authorities further stated that preliminary questioning suggested a possible romantic relationship between the two individuals involved.
Investigation ongoing
Both the man and the married woman reportedly admitted to the allegation during interrogation, according to officials.
They are expected to face further legal proceedings under applicable Sharia-based provisions.
The incident has drawn attention in the area, coming amid similar enforcement actions reported in other northern states involving morality-related arrests by Hisbah operatives.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the case proceeds toward arraignment.
