Communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have released the names and details of 39 students and seven teachers abducted in the early hours of Friday.

The victims were kidnapped at Ahoro-Esinele and neighboring communities. The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the incident.
In a statement obtained on Sunday evening, community representatives said the kidnappers also hijacked four motorcycles during the attack. The abduction has heightened concern across the affected communities in Oriire LGA.
Among the teachers taken are Mrs. Alamu Folawe, Principal of Community High School, and Mr. Ojo Jonathan, Vice Principal. Other teachers identified include Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus, Mr. John Olaleye, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, Mrs. Oladeji, and Mrs. Mary Akanbi of Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School.

The abducted students, aged between 2 and 16, are from Ahoro-Esinele, Yawota, Oniya, and Alawusa communities. Names released include Rashida Tajudeen, Ahmed Ramoni, Baraka Abioye, Samuel Oyedele, Christianah Akanbi, Shuaibu Aliyu, and Hannah Ojo, among others.
Community leaders said the release of the list is intended to aid identification and push for swift action to secure the victims’ release.
Security agencies are yet to give further updates on rescue efforts as investigations continue.
