Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested six suspected members of a ‘one chance’ robbery syndicate targeting commuters along Ago Palace Way in Okota.
The suspects were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation by officers monitoring the busy corridor. According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Abimbola Adebisi, the team intercepted a tricycle with registration number AAA 720 QL carrying six occupants allegedly attempting to rob unsuspecting passengers.
Police said the suspects abandoned the tricycle and fled when they noticed the presence of security operatives. A search of the scene led to the recovery of a cutlass believed to be used in their operations, a mobile phone suspected to belong to a victim, and a dummy pistol used to threaten commuters.
