
At least five people have been confirmed dead, while 10 others were rescued alive following the collapse of a three-storey building under construction in Abuja.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the Durumi 3 area near Gudu Market, where the structure suddenly gave way, trapping several individuals beneath the rubble.
According to officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), rescue operations are still ongoing as emergency responders intensify efforts to locate more victims believed to be trapped at the site, located around Gaduwa Estate in the Gudu district.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, Mandate Secretary of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat, who visited the scene, revealed that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has directed that all victims receive immediate and free medical treatment.
Emergency personnel, including the Federal Fire Service, security agencies, health workers, and local volunteers, have continued to work under challenging conditions to evacuate victims from the debris.
Residents of the area gathered at the scene as the rescue mission progressed, while authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the cause of the collapse.
