The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano has arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly vandalising railway materials linked to the Federal Government’s Kaduna-Kano railway project.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the suspect, Sani Ismail, was picked up in Kiru Local Government Area after intelligence led operatives to him. Ismail is from Kuya village in Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Preliminary investigation showed that the suspect removed 11 rail line clips installed on the new standard gauge railway line currently under construction. NSCDC said he was found with a hammer believed to have been used to detach the clips.

NSCDC confirmed that the suspects are not registered in its volunteer database. Investigations have been concluded, and the command said legal action will be taken against the two fake volunteers.
