
Armed bandits have killed several travelers and injured others in an attack along the Gusau–Magami highway in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The assault happened on Sunday as passengers were traveling from Gusau to Magami. According to a statement from Hon. Shehu Musa, the Councillor representing Magami Ward, gunmen ambushed the travelers and opened fire, causing multiple casualties.
Musa confirmed the attack but did not disclose the exact number of people killed or injured. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and to residents of Magami Ward, and urged the public to continue praying for lasting peace in Zamfara and across Nigeria.

Residents in the area have renewed calls on the federal government and security agencies to step up efforts against the recurring bandit attacks that have made parts of Zamfara unsafe for travel.
The Gusau–Magami route has seen repeated incidents of violence in recent months, raising fresh concerns over the security of commuters and the state’s ability to curb insecurity.
